Meet Our Founder

  • Grief turns into change

My name is Halle Aragon, and I founded Mookie’s Voice in August 2024 after losing my beloved dog, Mookie, in the most heartbreaking way imaginable. I am a 23-year-old from Santa Clarita, CA, and while I didn’t grow up as an "animal lover," that all changed when Mookie came into my life. He was our first non-golden retriever, and he quickly became a treasured part of our family. His tragic death has forever altered my perspective, igniting a passion for dogs and a relentless drive to seek justice for innocent lives like his.

  • Making a difference for the voiceless

Before this, I was a Political Science major, so public issues have always been close to my heart. Now, I have a deeply personal reason to channel that interest into something meaningful. Mookie didn’t have a voice to fight for himself, but I do—and I’m determined to make sure his story brings about real change.

When I’m not working on Mookie’s Voice, you’ll find me indulging in some of my other passions. I love writing poetry, cooking, reading, and playing with my dog Cooper. I’m also a huge sports fan, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than watching a good hockey game—hockey is the best! Music is another big love of mine, and I’m always singing (even if I’m not very good at it, haha).

  • Mookie’s Family

I live in Saugus, CA, with my parents, Mike and Kirsten, and my siblings, Hannah and Brandon. Mookie’s Voice is my way of honoring the dog who brought so much joy into my life. Through this journey, I am committed to giving a voice to the voiceless and enduring no other pet or family suffers like Mookie and I did.
